Celebrating our 5th Anniversary

Rutland Reminders, the local volunteer group providing therapy through singing for people with dementia, are celebrating their 5th Anniversary this month!

The charity was started in 2010 by retired Oakham School schoolmaster Dr Charles Lawrence and the group is going from strength to strength, with over 30 volunteers, two singing sessions a month at Rutland Care Village in Oakham and, new for 2015, an outreach programme at Aberdeen House in Uppingham.

The Rutland Reminders sessions welcome guests with dementia and their carers for songs, poetry readings and refreshments – this month the group are celebrating the 5th anniversary and welcome special guest Emma Warren from Rutland County Museum, who will be sharing a collection of domestic memorabilia.

To join a session as a guest or carer, please contact organiser Angela Ashpole on 07779 413889 or email angela.ashpole@rutlandreminders.org.uk
