Every year on 5 December, International Volunteer Day gives volunteers and organisations the opportunity to celebrate their efforts and the rewards that volunteering brings.
Mandated by the UN General Assembly, International Volunteer Day is viewed as a unique chance to share values and to promote volunteer work among communities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector.
Rutland Reminders is a charity formed entirely of volunteers, providing monthly singing therapy sessions to people with dementia in Rutland. Our volunteers range from singers and event organisers to committee roles, such as secretary and treasurer, and all are vital to us providing a valuable service to our guests.
International Volunteer Day is an opportunity for us to thank all our current volunteers and welcome new volunteers – if you would like to join our team in 2018 please contact us.
