A successful Dementia Awareness Week for Rutland Reminders

Rutland Reminders Volunteers at Tesco Oakham

Rutland Reminders volunteers Pam Holden and Chris Bamber share information with Tesco customers in Oakham

Rutland Reminders had a wonderful Dementia Awareness Week last week, with our regular Oakham session at Rutland Care Village, meeting up with Dementia Friends Rutland at Baker’s Yard in Oakham on Tuesday, and two awareness stands at Uppingham Market and Tesco Oakham.

Special thanks to all who stopped to chat at Uppingham on Friday and at Tesco on Saturday, and for the very generous donations – we raised over £95, which will help towards our regular sessions and providing transport to our venues for those who need it.

Thanks, too, to all our volunteers who have given their time to make this week a success for raising awareness of dementia support in Rutland.

Dementia Awareness Week is an annual event organised by The Alzheimer’s Society and, this year, ran from 15 – 21 May.
